About Toni-Lee Brink
I’m Toni-Lee, founder and designer behind Pause Design Studio.
I work closely with growing businesses that have reached the point where design can no longer be treated as a series of disconnected jobs. They need someone who understands the bigger picture — their business, their customers, their goals — and can make considered creative decisions without everything having to be explained from scratch.
That’s the kind of relationship I enjoy building.
I’m naturally curious about why things work. I like understanding the thinking behind a business before deciding what something should look like. Often, the answer isn’t to redesign everything. It’s to recognise what’s already working, identify what isn’t, and make thoughtful changes that move the brand forward.
Many of my client relationships have lasted for years. Over time, I get to know the rhythm of the business, what matters to the people behind it, and how the brand needs to evolve. That familiarity means less briefing, fewer disconnected decisions, and design that feels increasingly like it belongs.
Outside of client work, I draw and paint regularly. It keeps me observant — looking closely at form, balance, light, emotion and the small details that change how something feels.
I think good design starts the same way: by paying attention before deciding what to do.
